The study provides critical insights into the oral hygiene habits of young people worldwide, revealing substantial disparities in toothbrushing frequency across countries, age groups, and socioeconomic contexts. This original study was led by Hoque Apu and Siddika in collaboration with Dr. Rajat Das Gupta from the University of South Carolina, USA.

Their study investigates a safer synthesis method for a fluorine-modified version of the epilepsy drug Dilantin (phenytoin) and explores why it has a longer duration in the body, but lower effectiveness compared to Dilantin.

Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) is honored to join the Healthier Central Appalachian Task Force (HCAT), a collaborative endeavor led by Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Inc. (ARH). The task force is being established by a $500,000 grant through the Appalachian Regional Commission’s (ARC) Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE). The Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) Moot Court hosted its second annual moot court competition in honor of LMU Law alumnus Matthew B. Long on April 16-17, 2024. The annual competition serves as the tryout for rising second-year law students to become a member of LMU Law Moot Court. Moot Court accepts no more than 15 students each year based on their oral advocacy and legal writing skills. Each student who participates in the competition presents an oral argument based on the appellate brief they completed for their legal writing course. This year, 30 students participated in the competition. The second annual Matthew B. Long competition winners were Halie Higgins of Erwin, TN and Carly Ebersberger of Mount Juliet, TN.

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Interim President Jason McConnell, DBA, has announced plans for the LMU-Caylor School of Nursing (LMU-CSON) to bring one of its proven nursing programs to Lexington, Kentucky, later this year. LMU received Kentucky Board of Nursing approval to move forward with the site at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. LMU plans to enroll students in its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for an August 2024 start date.
