Hamann Selected for Summer Research Fellowship
The Lincoln Memorial University-Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) congratulates Alyssa Hamann, Class of 2026, for her remarkable achievement in being one of only three students selected nationwide for the prestigious Summer Research Fellowship at the Department of Pathology, Section on Comparative Medicine, at Wake Forest University Primate Center.
Hamann's selection is a testament to her academic prowess, dedication to veterinary medicine and commitment to advancing research in the field of comparative pathology. She follows in the footsteps of Ashley Tinsley, who was awarded a comparative pathology externship at Stanford University in 2023, showcasing the caliber of students within the LMU-CVM community.

The Summer Research Fellowship at Wake Forest University Primate Center offers a rare opportunity for structured training in a research-intensive setting, with a focus on comparative disease pathophysiology in nonhuman primates and other species. Hamann will have the chance to engage in internationally recognized programs spanning various areas such as aging, women's health, cardiovascular disease, cancer, regenerative medicine, diabetes, reproductive system disorders, and substance abuse.
