LMU to Host Alumni Day at Tex Turner Arena on Feb. 17

The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) National Alumni Association will host Alumni Day at Tex Turner Arena on Saturday, February 17. The event will feature a South Atlantic Conference basketball match up with LMU hosting Wingate.

The women’s game will begin at 2 p.m. and the men’s game will follow at 4 p.m. In honor of the annual alumni gathering, all LMU alumni will receive free admission. An alumni reception will take place in the Hall of Fame Room on the lower concourse and there will be games, fun and prizes.

Cynthia WhittLMU will honor the service of Cynthia Whitt during the festivities. Whitt recently transitioned into a consultant role with the University following nearly 40 years of service in various roles including vice president for University Advancement since 1991.  

Ahead of the game, the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum will offer free admission for an Abraham Lincoln Birthday Celebration from noon-5 p.m. The event will feature an appearance by Lincoln presenter Dennis Boogs. There will be birthday cupcakes and craft stations for children. Special behind-the-scenes vault tours will also be available to give visitors the chance to see the collections most fragile artifacts which are not displayed often.
