Mountain Heritage Literary Festival set for June 21-22

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) will host the upcoming 18th Annual Mountain Heritage Literary Festival (MHLF), taking place on June 21-22, 2024.

 

The highlight of the festival will be the keynote address delivered by acclaimed author Robert Gipe. Known for his captivating storytelling and insightful exploration of Appalachian culture, Gipe's presentation is sure to inspire.

 

Directed by Assistant Professor of English Patrick Wensink, MHLF is a celebration of literary arts that brings together aspiring writers, established authors and literary enthusiasts from across the region.

 

"We are thrilled to host the 18th Annual Mountain Heritage Literary Festival at Lincoln Memorial University," said Wensink. "This festival is not only a celebration of the rich literary heritage of our region but also a platform for aspiring writers to learn, connect and be inspired by some of the brightest voices in contemporary literature."

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of courses covering different genres and aspects of writing, including fiction, memoir, poetry, horror and crime writing. Led by experienced instructors and industry professionals, these workshops offer valuable insights and practical guidance for writers at all levels.

 

In addition to workshops and presentations, MHLF will also feature writing contests and public readings, providing attendees with opportunities to showcase their literary talents and engage with fellow writers and readers.

 

Registration for the festival is open to the public, with tickets priced at $120. The registration fee includes admission to all festival events, as well as two meals during the duration of the event. Attendees are responsible for their own lodging.
