Clinical Year (OMS-III & IV) Elective Research Rotation: 

1. Identify a research mentor
2. Contact your clinical rotations coordinator to schedule research elective dates
3. Complete a Scholarly Activity Form
4. Complete your Research Elective Rotation Checklist*
5. Complete the Research Elective Rotation Protocol and send to Ms. Amanda McCoy**
6. Please have your Research Mentor complete your mid-term rotation, final evaluation forms and send them to the DCOM Research email (DCOMResearch@lmunet.edu).

**Research Elective Rotation Protocol must be submitted and approved 60 days prior to the rotation.

Presenting Scholarly Activity and Research:

1. Submit request to present form before sending your abstract to the conference/meeting organizers.
2. Email your abstract to DCOMResearch@lmunet.edu
3. Wait for approval from the Director of Research and Assistant Dean of Research.
4. Once approved, you can submit your abstract to the conference/meeting.

To present or travel to a conference/meeting as a student:

1. Once you have an approved request to present and have been accepted to a meeting, please complete a trave funds request.
2. The Director of Research and Assistant Dean of Research will review and approve the travel funds request.
3. Submit your hotel booking, airfare booking, conference registration, and poster fee to Ms. Amanda McCoy.
4. You will need to produce itemized receipts for reimbursement of travel expenses.

Student Research Travel Funds Request

1. Submit a request for publication and/or publication funds before sending your manuscript to a journal.
2. Email your manuscript to DCOMResearch@lmunet.edu
3. Wait for approval from the Director of Research and Assistant Dean of Research.
4. Once approved, you can submit your manuscript to the journal for publication.
