What Is My LMU Email Address?
Email addresses for LMU are normally Firstname.Lastname@lmunet.edu. For example if your name was Abraham Lincoln, your email address would be abraham.lincoln@lmunet.edu Any new student, faculty or staff who are unsure of their LMU e-mail address should contact the Help Desk at 423-869-7411.
How Do I Access My LMU Email?
Students, faculty and staff can all access email through MyLMU.
What Is My Initial Email Password?
The password scheme for new accounts is capital LMU and the first letter of your lastname followed by your 8 digit birthday. For example, if your name was Abraham Lincoln and you were born on February 12, 1809, your username would be abraham.lincoln and your password would be LMUl02121809 - a lower case 'L' followed by 02121809. We recommend changing this password as soon as possible.
If we do not have your birth date on file, it is a randomly generated pin that was created in the absence of one. To find out what this is, or if you wish to call and provide your birth date, please call the Help Desk at 423.869.7411 and we will attempt to resolve it for you.

Please note that the password requirements at LMU are as follows:

Must be at least 12 characters long

Must contain 3 of the following 4 character types: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, and special character

The password cannot contain any part of your name

The password cannot be any of the last four passwords used

Faculty/Staff must change their password every 90 days

Students must change their password every 6 months
Does My Email Password Change Other LMU Account Passwords?
Your Email password is tied to your active directory account. The password change only affects services involved with the active directory account, which includes email, myLMU, WebAdvisor, Blackboard, and logging on to LMU computers and networks.
