The Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Health Science (BS VHS) prepares graduates to apply to veterinary colleges and gain employment in pharmaceutical sales, animal health management, government agencies, national organizations, and higher education. Students who complete this undergraduate program will also be ready to apply to graduate school in animal science, public health, or other biological sciences. The Bachelor of Science degree offers students more significant opportunities for hands-on learning experiences with live animals.
The Veterinary Health Science degree offers incoming first-year students that meet the academic qualifications an opportunity for a direct entry pathway to Lincoln Memorial University's Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine.
The Early Acceptance Program (EAP Program) allows high-achieving, highly-motivated high school seniors to earn guaranteed acceptance into the Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine upon successful completion of their undergraduate degree at LMU, provided they meet the benchmarks determined by the Admissions Committee. Admitted students can expect to complete three years of undergraduate studies. In lieu of a fourth year of undergraduate studies, the fourth year will be comprised of their first year of veterinary school. Students will receive their Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Health Science (BS VHS) following completion of their first year of veterinary school. Accepted students will save one year of undergraduate study and tuition. The requirements for the veterinary medicine pathway (Early Acceptance Program) are outlined below.
