What is Probationary Accreditation Status?
Probationary accreditation status is a recognized accreditation category granted by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) that reflects their commitment to supporting programs in their continuous improvement. CAPTE has identified an area for improvement within the LMU DPT program. The program is advancing program quality through focused improvements in this area with defined timelines and regular monitoring to achieve full compliance. Probationary accreditation status is NOT a loss of accreditation—it is an accreditation status that allows the program to continue operating while addressing CAPTE's requirements. The program remains fully accredited during probationary status.
Can I graduate from the DPT Program during Probationary Accreditation status?
Yes. Students may continue to enroll, progress through, and graduate from the program during probationary accreditation status.
Will I still be able to sit for the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE)?
Yes. Enrolled students who graduate from LMU DPT are eligible to sit for the NPTE and pursue licensure. The program maintains its FULL accreditation status during this probationary period.
