The candidate actively seeks out opportunities for professional development, personal growth and is supportive of continuous lifelong learning.  During each Benchmark, Candidates must submit reflections and certificates from Professional Development Workshops attended. Each candidate must complete a total of 8 workshops during the four Benchmarks.  Each semester 6-10 professional Development Workshops are offered for candidates to choose from. 
Topics include:  Technology, Diversity, Classroom Management, Math Manipulatives, Lesson Planning, Trauma-Informed Practices, and other topics.

For Faculty & Staff

Throughout the year the Carter and Moyers School of Education hosts lectures and other events that embrace current issues and relevant concerns that affect our education system.  The School of Education partners with a variety of stakeholders in the effort to inform and empower educators and other interested parties.  The School of Education conducts professional development for the LMU community on a regular basis as well. These events are open to anyone interested in education issues and topics.
