The applications for the two DVM programs are separate. The OPCVM application is available through the LMU Application Portal on this site. The Richard A Gillespie CVM application is available through VMCAS. The applications are not shared between the two colleges. Please note that the minimum requirements differ slightly between programs.

No, the GRE is not required and, if submitted, will not be considered in the admissions review.
No, the CASPER assessment is not required for the OPCVM.
Applicants must submit 3–6 electronic letters of recommendation (eLORs) through the application portal, and they must include at least:
- 1 letter from a college professor
- 1 letter from a veterinarian or other individual who can speak to your professional (not personal) interactions/experiences with veterinary medicine or animal-related research
- 1 letter from a current or previous supervisor/employerLetters sent via email or post are not accepted.
Yes. You may indicate courses as “in progress” or “planned” when applying. However, official transcripts showing successful completion of those prerequisites must be submitted to LMU‑OPCVM before orientation.
Beyond standard application information requested in VMCAS, applicants must complete:
- Additional financial aid information specific to LMU‑OPCVM.
- A video submission, as instructed in the application portal—to showcase professionalism, enthusiasm, and readiness for this innovative program.
Admissions updates—along with invitations to events or info sessions—will be communicated through the application portal email.
