Admissions Requirements

    Each applicant to the Master of Science (MS) program is evaluated holistically by their chosen program’s Admissions Committee.  Committee members carefully consider each required element of the application package including telephone interview, science course GPA, cumulative GPA, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores.


    Application Deadline

    The application for Spring 2021 is open until December 19, 2020.

    The application for Fall 2021 will be open until July 1, 2021


    •  Class Prerequisites 

      Successful completion of the following coursework with a grade of "C" or higher in each course:

      Biology: Minimum of 8 semester hours (including lecture and lab)

      English: Minimum of 6 semester hours

      Inorganic Chem: Minimum of 8 semester hours (including lecture and lab)

      Organic Chem: Minimum of 8 semester hours (inlcuding lecture and lab)

      Biochemistry: Minimum of 3 semester hours

      Physics: Minimum of 8 semester hours (including lecture and lab)

      Probability and Statistics (only for VBMS applicants)

      Anatomy and Physiology: Minimum of 3 semester hours

    •  Grade Point Average(s)

      Students will be considered for admission with GPAs of the following:

      Science GPA 3.0 or better, Cumulative GPA 3.0 or better, or evidence of a trajectory of improved academic performance, especially in science course work.

       If English is not the applicant's native language, the international student must submit her/his offical score report from the Test of English as a Foreign Languate (TOEFL). This score will also be considered holistically laong with the otehr elements of the application package. The applicant must also display proficiency in spoken English durin the telephone interview. 

    •  Test Scores

      MCAT 2016:  Score of 492 and above

      MCAT can be no more than 3 years old

      GRE: Score of 292 and above with a writing score of 3.5 above

      DAT: Score of 17 and above

      Test scores can be submitted online through the application portal by uploading a screenshot of the offical score report. Scores can also be emailed to [email protected].

      *Scores from the Optometry Aadmission Test (OAT) and the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT) will also be considered. 

    •   Letters of Reccomendation 

      Biomedical Professions, Anatomical Sciences, Life Science Research, Veterinary Biomedical Science:

      Two letters of reccomendation from the applicant's instructors or one committee letter from a health professions advisory committee. At least one letter must be from a science instructor. Letters may be uploaded to your application portal or emailed to [email protected].

      LORs may also be accessed through an AACOMAS application or VMCAS application. To give the Master of Science program permission to acces AACOMAS applications, please email [email protected] at LMU-DCOM. For VMCAS applications, please email [email protected].

    •   Personal Statement

       The personal statement should professionally articulate how the MS program will benefit your educational and career goals.

      This should be a separate statement written for the MS program, NOT a medical or veterinary school statement directly from your AACOMAS or VMCAS application. No minimum or maximum limits are enforced with the personal statement. 

    •  Official Transcripts

      All offical college transcripts are needed to complete the application process. These may be mailed to:
