All application materials must be uploaded and submitted to the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service (OTCAS). Applications for the LMU OTD program will open mid-July every year.
The admissions committee will base decisions upon several components of an application package. These include overall and prerequisite grade point averages (GPAs), the personal interview, and references. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are NOT required.
Consistent with the University's mission, applicants from the Appalachian region (TN, KY, VA, NC, OH, WV, PA, AL, GA) are given preference in the admissions process. Students who are graduates (or who plan to graduate) from Lincoln Memorial University will be guaranteed. Lincoln Memorial University students are not guaranteed acceptance into the program, but they are granted a preferred status, which may be beneficial in a competitive admissions environment.
**If your overall GPA on all college coursework falls below a 3.0, you may still be eligible for admission based on a positive grade trend.

NOTE: Substitution of requirements for any of the above prerequisite courses may be granted individually by the occupational therapy program admissions committee.
Transfer of Credits. There is no credit for experiential learning or work experience. Previous OT coursework is non-transferable into the OTD program.
AP Credits. Advanced Placement (AP) credits are not accepted to fulfill prerequisite requirements. However, if you’ve completed a higher-level course in the same subject area (e.g., a more advanced biology course to replace an introductory biology prerequisite), it may be accepted as a substitution. Be sure to provide the course description and syllabus for review, as substitutions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Once verified through OTCAS (the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service), qualified candidates will be invited for an interview. Please note that there are limited spots available for each interview day. Therefore, submitting your application early and securing an early interview could increase your chances of acceptance into the program.
