The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) concentration at Lincoln Memorial University's Caylor School of Nursing prepares registered nurses to provide advanced care for adolescents, adults and older adults ages 13 and older with acute, critical and complex chronic health conditions.
Designed for nurses seeking to advance their careers in acute and critical care settings, the program combines advanced clinical knowledge with hands-on experience to develop the skills needed to assess, diagnose and manage patients in high-acuity health care environments.
The 44-credit-hour program is offered in a hybrid format, combining online coursework with scheduled on-campus intensives for hands-on skill development. Students may complete the program in four semesters of full-time study or seven semesters of part-time study, providing flexibility for working nurses.
Through clinical experiences with regional health care providers, students develop practical skills, clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities to prepare for advanced practice nursing roles. Graduates will be eligible to sit for national certification examinations offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
The AGACNP concentration supports LMU's commitment to preparing highly skilled health care professionals and addressing workforce needs, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
