Founder's Fest

Founders Fest is a time of celebration and recognition for our institution and the values we strive to embody. During this time of year, we are reminded of our purpose, mission, and ideals. It was Lincoln’s great love of learning and drive to support the Appalachian community that inspired O.O. Howard to establish the University that we proudly commemorate today. In honor of continuing that spirit and drive for education, each year we host a multiple day event packed with memorable experiences for students, faculty/staff, alumni, and the surrounding community leading up to Founder's Day! Staple events of Founder's Fest include the Founder's Day Games and Lincoln's Honor Court.

UACT 100: Strategies for College Success Course

UACT is an introductory course that is required for all first-year students. It is a seminar-style class that covers topics relevant to college life such as study skills, money management, critical thinking, and diversity. This class is meant to be a landing base for students and allows them to connect with a Lincoln Ambassador, a faculty or staff instructor, and other first-year students as they navigate their first semester of college. UACT instructors are faculty or staff members who can serve as resources for new students as well as help direct class sessions with the help of their Lincoln Ambassador.
