A balanced calendar typically consists of 45 days of instruction followed by a 15-day intermission, occurring in four cycles throughout the school year. This structure maintains the same total of 180 instructional days but distributes breaks more evenly, helping students retain knowledge and return to school refreshed throughout the year. Research has shown this approach to be highly beneficial for both academic growth and overall well-being.
To ensure a smooth transition, the 2025–2026 school year will implement a modified balanced calendar, allowing families to keep summer plans already in place. The 2026–2027 school year will then fully adopt the 45/15 balanced model.
