LMU-DCOM was established
Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) was established on August 1, 2007, on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. With the beautiful Cumberland Gap mountains serving as the backdrop, LMU-DCOM is one of the most prominent buildings on campus. LMU-DCOM currently offers programs in three locations: Harrogate, TN, Knoxville, TN and Orange Park, FL. Quality educational programs are delivered through experienced faculty utilizing innovative teaching methods and state-of-the-art technology. LMU-DCOM is fully committed to meeting the health care needs of the community and beyond with excellence in teaching, patient care and services.
LMU-DCOM was established in 2007 in Harrogate, Tennessee, with the mission of placing primary care doctors in Appalachia and the surrounding area. Since then it has graduated thousands of doctors, many of whom work in East Tennessee and the surrounding states.
DCOM at LMU-Knoxville offers the same four-year, full-time academic and clinical program as offered at the LMU-DCOM Harrogate campus granting the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. The LMU-Knoxville campus opened its doors to a class of 125 in fall 2019.
DCOM at LMU-Orange Park opened in the fall of 2026, bringing the first medical school to the Jacksonville, FL area. With LMU-DCOM’s mission of placing primary care physicians in areas of health care needs, the new campus is a welcome addition to the rapidly growing First Coast.

LMU-DCOM Professor Highlights Public Health Integration in Anatomy Education at Global Conference

Dr. Jennifer Hotzman, vice chair of anatomy and associate professor of anatomy at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM), recently presented research on integrating public health concepts into anatomy education at the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA) Congress in Melbourne, Australia, joining anatomy educators and researchers from around the world.
LMU-DCOM Anatomy Professor Presents Research at International Conference in Australia

Dr. Erick Moberg was selected to present portions of his dissertation research after his work was accepted for inclusion in the prestigious international conference. His poster, titled “Enhancing the Spatial Learning Experience in Medical Gross Anatomy While Evaluating 2D vs. 3D Instructional Approaches to Teaching Medical Images of the Hand,” examines how 3D-printed anatomical models can improve students’ understanding of complex anatomical relationships.
