Message from the Director

NoeWelcome to the website for the Physician Assistant (PA) Program at Lincoln Memorial  University-School of Medical Sciences (LMU-SMS) in Harrogate. We appreciate your interest in our program.

Here at LMU-SMS PA program, Our faculty focus on you – the student, as well as your  future patients.

The faculty come from diverse clinical backgrounds, and you will find their knowledge  and commitment to furthering the PA profession is clear.  We demonstrate the concept of life-long learning and hold the students to the same standard.

The program provides an intense immersion into clinical education and practice, with a curriculum that focuses on the pathogenesis of disease, the clinical presentation of the disease state, and the interventions and therapeutics needed to treat each patient. The faculty uses an eclectic blend of instructional techniques to enable optimal learning and allow for early application of concepts that include small group work, clinical skills labs, clinical scenarios (OSCEs) and simulations. Additionally, our program offers early exposure to patient care through working in a rural clinic with supervision.  We also offer a faculty-student mentor program that aides in ensuring students are well supported through their studies.

We are proud of our PA students’ commitment to community service and leadership. Each year our PA students participate in local events related to health literacy and health promotion as well as regional and foreign medical missions. Our students are also engaged in promoting the PA profession by speaking with lawmakers at the state capital each spring and by participating in state and national student academies. Take a moment to review our webpage and discover what makes the LMU-SMS PA Program in Harrogate, Tennessee special.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you in your journey to become a Physician Assistant.

Professionally yours,

Stephen Noe, DMS, MPAS, PA-C
