Veterinary Health Science Degree Options

Associate of Science in Veterinary Health Science

The Associate of Science in Veterinary Health Science (AS VHS) is designed especially for the student who wishes to apply to an AVMA accredited veterinary college. After completing the Associate of Science degree, a student will have fulfilled the major requirements for application to veterinary college. This program offers students limited veterinary experience and education using lectures and labs with animal models and cadavers.

Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Health Science

The Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Health Science (BS VHS) prepares graduates to apply to veterinary colleges and gain employment in pharmaceutical sales, animal health management, government agencies, national organizations, and higher education. Students who complete this undergraduate program will also be ready to apply to graduate school in animal science, public health, or other biological sciences. The Bachelor of Science degree offers students more significant opportunities for hands-on learning experiences with live animals.

The Veterinary Health Science degree offers incoming first-year students that meet the academic qualifications an opportunity for a direct entry pathway to Lincoln Memorial University's College of Veterinary Medicine.

The LMU Guaranteed Professional Admission (GPA Program) allows high-achieving, highly motivated high school seniors to earn guaranteed acceptance into one of our professional degree pathways after completing their Undergraduate degree at LMU. Each professional program has slightly different benchmarks and requirements along the way but is committed to offering successful GPA program participants a head start on their professional education.
