The undergraduate honors published at commencement will be based on your current GPA and will not include the fall semester's grades. After all final grades are recorded, honors categories will be recalculated. The honors designation on the diploma will be based on your final cumulative GPA.
Because of the short length and the high standards of the graduate programs, these student do not receive honors.
Lincoln Memorial University is pleased to announce that active duty military and veteran graduating students and faculty are presented with red, white and blue cords to wear during the commencement ceremony. These cords signify the University's appreciation for their service.
If you are an active duty military or veteran graduating student and wish to receive a cord, please email richard.bradley@lmunet.edu no later than Friday, November 01, 2024. Graduates using dependent and/or transferred educational military benefits are not eligible to receive cords.
Lincoln Memorial University is home of the Tennessee Epsilon 82 Chapter of this national co-educational society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. As a general honor society, Alpha Chi admits to membership students from all academic disciplines. A member institution, which must be a regionally accredited, baccalaureate degree-granting college or university, may invite to membership no more than the top 10% of junior, senior, and graduate classes.
For membership in the Tennessee Epsilon 82 Chapter, students must complete a minimum number of credit hours at LMU and be in the top 10% of their class, or academic program, as computed by their LMU cumulative grade point average. Alpha Chi membership is indicated by the green and sapphire blue honor cords.
University Honors Scholars engage their college education through courses that expect more critical reading and writing, thoughtful discussion, and interdisciplinary analysis. A scholarly research project that leads to a senior thesis connects Honors Scholars with faculty members on many levels of learning.
