Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program
The Lincoln Memorial University - College of Veterinary Medicine at Orange Park's Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program enables students to become confident and competent veterinarians in both medical knowledge and clinical skills. With this practical approach in mind, hands-on experience with animals begins in the first semester and continues throughout the program.
Students will experience:
- “Hands on” based veterinary education that begins the first semester.
- Clinical experience with a varied and busy caseload that emphasizes a team approach.
- Education that includes leadership skills, communication, and community service.
Accreditation Status
Lincoln Memorial University–Orange Park College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-OPCVM) is proud to announce that the program has been granted Provisional Accreditation by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA COE). The AVMA-COE is the recognized accrediting body for veterinary medicine in the United States and Canada.
Provisional Accreditation is a significant milestone in the development of a new veterinary college. This designation is awarded to programs that have enrolled students and demonstrated substantial compliance with the AVMA-COE's rigorous accreditation standards. It reflects the Council's confidence that the College is providing a quality veterinary medical education while continuing its progression toward Full Accreditation.
As part of the accreditation process, LMU-OPCVM will continue to undergo comprehensive evaluations by the AVMA-COE to ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards. These evaluations include scheduled comprehensive site visits and, when appropriate, interim, or focused visits throughout the development of the program.
The College will be eligible for consideration for Full Accreditation following the graduation of its inaugural class, at which time the AVMA-COE will evaluate the program's continued compliance with all accreditation standards.
This achievement represents an important step in the continued growth of LMU-OPCVM and reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, students, University leadership, and the many supporters who have helped bring the College's vision to life.
