Overview 

Dr. Christopher Lee serves as the Assistant Professor of Microbiology. He teaches parasitology, immunology, and bacteriology, with a focus on practical application for clinicians and trainees. Dr. Lee also serves as the host of Vet Watch with dvm360, where he covers timely topics in preventive medicine, parasitology, vaccines, and emerging infectious diseases. 
 
In addition to his academic role, Dr. Lee is an active national speaker for veterinary conferences and industry education programs, known for clear, engaging content that bridges primary literature and day-to-day decision-making. His professional interests include parasite diagnostics and control, vaccine strategy, outbreak thinking for practitioners, and translating complex microbiology into actionable clinical prevention. 

Role at OPCVM 

Dr. Lee provides pre‑clinical and clinical instruction in microbiology with an emphasis on bacteriology, virology, mycology, and immunology. In this role, Dr. Lee fosters student learning by strengthening foundational and applied understanding of microbial pathogens and host immune responses. He also contributes through ongoing research and scholarly activity in microbiology and related infectious disease disciplines. 

Research Focus 

Dr. Lee’s research centers on parasitology and preventive medicine, with a particular focus on understanding host–pathogen interactions and advancing strategies to reduce infectious disease burden in animal populations. His clinical teaching and scholarly work span parasitology, immunology, vaccinology, and bacteriology, integrating foundational science with practical, prevention‑focused applications. With expertise in parasitology, preventive medicine, immunology, and vaccinology, he contributes to improving disease control and enhancing student training in core areas of veterinary infectious disease and immune system function.
