LMU to Host Blue Ridge Undergraduate Research Conference

HARROGATE, Tennessee, Jan. 31, 2019— Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) is set to host the 26th Annual Blue Ridge Undergraduate Research Conference on Friday, April 5, 2019, at the Hamilton Math and Science Building on the LMU main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee. Undergraduate students from institutions throughout the Southern Appalachian region will come together to present their research in a professional forum. Students may present a paper, artwork or a poster.

“The Blue Ridge Undergraduate Research Conference is an excellent opportunity for students to share their research and creative works in a supportive, low pressure, professional environment,” said Dr. Adam Rollins, dean of the School of Mathematics and Sciences. “Through interacting with their peers and professors from across the region, these students will gain an appreciation for the importance of communicating the results of their work and the benefits of building a collaborative network of colleagues.”

The registration fee is $30 and includes lunch.  Students who wish to present at the conference need to submit the proposal form, including a 200-word abstract, by March 15, 2019. Early registration is strongly encouraged as late registrant information will not be listed in the program. Registration is available up to the day of the conference. No refunds after March 22.

Panel presentations will be grouped by discipline.  Students should be prepared to present for 12 minutes with three additional minutes for questions.  A separate space will be reserved for poster presentations. Poster size cannot exceed 38 inches by 48 inches.
