Harrogate, Tennessee, March 9, 2018—A recent study of student debt and early career salaries ranks Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) the fifth best risk-reward college in the state of Tennessee.
LendEDU’s College Risk-Reward Indicator (CRRI) compared the average student loan debt per borrower with the average early career pay, or the median salary for alumni with zero to five years of experience. The study analyzed 994 private and public 4-year colleges and universities in the United States. Schools that recorded the highest CRRI values should be considered as the best risk-adjusted choices for undergraduate students. With an average early career pay of over $41,000 and average student loan debt of about $11,000, LMU earned a 3.61 CRRI score and ranks 212 nationally.
“This recognition affirms one of Lincoln Memorial University’s goals of providing students with a high-quality education with a low debt load,” said Dr. Jody Goins, vice president for enrollment, athletics and public relations. “In addition, upon graduation students realize an immediate return on investment through professional placement because of the liberal arts core and career-specific competencies attained at LMU.”
Vanderbilt University earned the highest score in the state of Tennessee followed by Tennessee Tech, Sewanee, Rhodes College and LMU. LMU comes in ahead of state public institutions including the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and East Tennessee State University.
