Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) cordially invites current students to the first LMU-CVM Career Fair on October 14, 2017. The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center (DVTC) in Ewing, Virginia.
“This is a great opportunity for veterinarians and others to share information about their practice or company with future veterinary graduates,” said Dr. Randy Evans, associate dean of career services and professional development. “There are currently over 400 students in the LMU-CVM four year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.”
Veterinary practices are invited to attend the career fair to educate students on their practice and network with potential future veterinary hires. Students will learn directly from LMU-CVM clinical affiliate partners in attendance about their practice and make clinical year scheduling decisions. The four-week clinical rotations completed in the students’ final year of veterinary school serve as excellent month-long working interviews and valuable clinical experiences for veterinary practices and students alike.
Lincoln Memorial University is pleased that the CVM will be able to provide two hours of free RACE approved continuing education for attending veterinarians, a meet and greet reception and tours of the DVTC during the event. The RACE approved continuing education topics of CPR: What’s Old is New Again and Identifying Shock will feature Dr. Ben O’Kelley of the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas. The atmosphere will be relaxed as mentors interact with possible future veterinary colleagues in the beautiful fall setting of this Appalachian region.
The registration fee is $10 for veterinary practices and $50 for veterinary companies. Any profit generated from the event will be donated to student scholarships.
To RSVP for the continuing education or reserve a table contact Jane Smola at jane.smola@LMUnet.edu or Dr. Randy Evans at randall.evans@LMUnet.edu . If unable to attend in person, please send electronic material about your practice and it will be shared with the students.
