Enrollment at LMU Reaches All-Time High

Harrogate, Tennessee, September 19, 2017— Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) recorded its largest enrollment ever, with 4,770 students of record at the fall census date on Friday, September 15. With 570 more students than last fall, the University’s rolls grew by 14 percent.

The University also set a benchmark in undergraduate enrollment, with 1,919 students enrolled in undergraduate studies, up 14% from a year ago. LMU has 2,851 students engaged in graduate or professional curriculums. LMU students hail from 46 states and 25 countries. Sixty-three percent of the student population is female, compared to 37% male.

“LMU is honored to serve the students in our largest enrollment ever. This accomplishment is a reflection of the commitment by the administration, faculty, and staff at LMU to provide relevant and quality degree programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels, which students value and realize a high return on investment upon degree completion from LMU,” said LMU President Clayton Hess. “This enrollment record also highlights the trust students have placed in LMU to meet their educational needs—a trust we appreciate and do not take for granted. Additionally, our enrollment growth demonstrates that we are achieving our institutional mission.”

LMU has shown consistent growth over the past decade, with a total enrollment increase of 47% and an undergraduate enrollment increase of 29%. Spurred by the initiation of professional schools, including the LMU-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, LMU-Duncan School of Law and LMU-College of Veterinary Medicine, and the University’s elevation to a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS COC) Level VI institution, LMU’s graduate and professional student enrollment has increased 61% in the last ten years.
