LMU Players Announce Auditions for Noises Off!
The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Players will host auditions for its spring production of Noises Off!, Jan. 22-24. Auditions are open to LMU students, faculty and the surrounding community. All experience levels are welcome.
Noises Off! is a comedy by Michael Frayn about a play within a play. This classic farce concerns an ambitious director and his troupe of mediocre actors trying to put on this production in which lovers frolic, doors slam, and embarrassing hi-jinx ensue.
The auditions will be held in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center in the Duke Hall of Citizenship from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24. For the audition, actors must perform a one-minute monologue, preferably memorized. Two sample monologues will be available for a cold reading. Sign-ups for audition times are located outside Avery 112 on the theater board.
