O'Pry Named Director of Splitter Sound Machine Pep Band
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has named Sean O’Pry director of the pep band, Splitter Sound Machine.
“I am very excited to take on the pep band director role at LMU,” O’Pry said. “When I moved here, I hoped to find an institution with spirited students, enthusiastic colleagues, and supportive administration. LMU offers all of that.”
The Splitter Sound Machine has a long-standing tradition of contributing to the positive atmosphere of LMU athletic events.
“Our role is to play fun and exciting music as well as cheer our LMU teams on to victory,” O’Pry said.
O’Pry teaches K-8 music in Bell County, Kentucky. Prior to moving to the Appalachian region, he taught high school band in Northeast Louisiana. He performs regularly with many ensembles as a saxophonist and conductor. He earned his bachelor of music and master of education degrees from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Any students or community members interested in joining the Splitter Sound Machine may email [email protected]. He is seeking horn players, guitarists, bass guitarists, and drummers. Scholarships are available for LMU students.
