Acoustic Music Week set for July 7-12
Lincoln Memorial University’s (LMU) Acoustic Music Week, sponsored by Arts in the Gap and directed by internationally-known musician, recording artist and producer Steve Gulley, is set for July 7-12.
“This is the fruition of a life-long dream,” says Gulley. “It’s an opportunity to bring some of my award-winning musical friends to my beloved mountain home here in the tri-state area of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia. It’s our chance to share the musical knowledge we’ve gained over our many years of singing, playing, writing and performing all around the world.”
In this camp, world-class musicians work with participants in an intimate and friendly setting. Acoustic Music Week features lessons for intermediate and advanced musicians as well as beginners. Instructors include Gulley (songwriting), Alan Bibey (mandolin), Adam Haynes (fiddle), Phil Leadbetter (dobro), Mike Scott (banjo), Kenny Smith (guitar), Amanda Smith (vocals) and Brian Turner (bass). Participants are all age ranges and have the option to stay on campus during the week.
