LMU to Hold Winter Commencement Virtually on Saturday

Winter Commencement

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) President Clayton Hess will confer 370 degrees in a virtual ceremony on Saturday, December 12. Dr. Belle Wheelan, president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, will deliver the commencement address.

“The degree candidates, faculty and administration have persevered through what has been a challenging semester on many fronts,” Hess said. “Commencement may not look the way it has in the past, but the accomplishments of the Class of 2020 are to be celebrated and we look forward to honoring our graduates, even if we have to do it through a screen.”

The virtual ceremony can be accessed through the LMU website at www.LMUnet.edu. It will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Over 200 of the degree candidates participated in graduation photography sessions in order to be included in the virtual ceremony. Overall, LMU will confer 41 associate, 147 baccalaureate, 98 masters, 31 educational specialist and 30 professional degrees. Degree recipients will be mailed their diplomas in January along with a commencement program to commemorate the virtual ceremony.
