Dr. Richard Lane Promoted to MBA Program Director at LMU

Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business Dean Kelsey Metz has promoted Dr. Richard Lane to director of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

Lane joined the LMU School of Business faculty in December 2022 and has served as an assistant professor of management. In his new role, he will lead the MBA program and continue to teach courses across all School of Business programs.

“Dr. Richard Lane has earned this recognition and promotion,” Metz said. “In his short time at LMU, he has maintained an undeniable commitment to student well-being and success. I am confident that his long history of excellence in customer service will only enhance the MBA experience for our students.”

Prior to entering academia, Lane had a long career in the U.S Air Force and private industry. He served as a People Leader in the U.S. Air Force including assignments at the Pentagon. He led an effort to automate the fuels inventory and accounting process and was responsible for oversight, management and direct responsibility of the Air Force fuels operating budget valued at $2.8 billion annually. He led a team that earned the 2002 Best in Air Force Unit award.

Following his military service Lane served as director of service excellence for ADT Security and vice president for service excellence for Prime Therapeutics.

He holds an Associate in Applied Science in Logistics from Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, a MBA with a concentration in finance from LMU and a PhD in business administration and organizational leadership from Northcentral University.

Lane is an Aubrey Daniels Certified Coach and has served as a youth leader for Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and is a member of Delta Mu Delta Honor Society.

The MBA program offers concentrations in business analytics, digital marketing, health care administration, general business, sport management, strategic management, supply chain management and technology management. Designed for working professionals, the program is completely online.

The LMU School of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). LMU offers undergraduate business majors and programs in general business, accounting, business analytics, finance, health care administration, management, management information systems, marketing and sport management at the main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee.
