Ten Receive Juris Doctor Degrees at LMU Fall Commencement
Ten degree candidates from the Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) had Juris Doctor degrees conferred upon them at Lincoln Memorial University’s (LMU) Fall Commencement Exercises on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, in Tex Turner Arena on the main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee.
LMU Law Vice President and Dean Gary R. Wade presented diplomas to Samantha Clark (Medina, Tennessee), Daniel Crowe (Knoxville, Tennessee), Jordan Darty (Statesville, North Carolina), Madison Dunn (Knoxville, Tennessee), Daniel Herrera (Knoxville, Tennessee), Menachem Langer (Knoxville, Tennessee), Robert Leaird (Bennettsville, South Carolina), Whitney Napier (Lancaster, Kentucky) Victoria Raulerson (Apopka, Florida) and Paul Talley (Dandridge, Tennessee), after each of the candidates were hooded by Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law Matt Lyon.
Assistant Professor of Theater Joseph Gill gave the commencement address. During his speech, he asked the crowd to applaud the graduates. “Absorb that, take that in,” he told the Class of 2019. “That is the love that will carry you on to what is next. What comes next may be fearful but remember the opposite of fear is faith and trust. Trust that the best is yet to come.”
The newly minted J.D.s can now sit for the next administration of the Bar Exam prior to entering practice. LMU Law will hold its May Commencement Exercises on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium.
