The Lincoln Memorial University-Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum (LMU-ALLM) has announced its fall 2026 events schedule, featuring opportunities for community members, families, and students to engage with history through interactive programs and educational experiences.
The lineup includes four events throughout the fall semester, each designed to connect participants with the museum's mission of preserving and sharing the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln while encouraging exploration of broader themes in American history.
"This season's events offer meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to learn, explore and engage with history," said Susan Parker, program coordinator at LMU-ALLM. "Whether visiting with family, participating in a special program or attending as part of a school group, we hope guests leave with a deeper appreciation for the stories that continue to shape our nation."
Genealogy Workshop September 26, 2026 | 9 a.m.
Ever wondered what stories might be hidden in your family tree? The Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum's Genealogy Workshop will help participants discover the people, places and records that bring family history to life. Through presentations and hands-on learning, attendees will explore strategies for tracing ancestors, breaking through research roadblocks, preserving family documents and uncovering the stories hidden within everyday objects. Revolutionary S.T.E.A.M at the Museum October 1-2, 2026 | 8:30 a.m.
Designed for school groups, Revolutionary S.T.E.A.M. at the Museum brings the American Revolution to life through interactive, hands-on learning experiences. Students will rotate through stations throughout the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum, exploring how science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics shaped daily life during the Revolutionary era. Through experiments, demonstrations and historical challenges, participants will discover the creativity and innovation that helped define a nation in its earliest years.

Victorian Mourning & Funeral Practices October 30, 2026 | 6 p.m.
What happened when someone died in Victorian America? This Halloween season, the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum invites visitors to explore the customs, superstitions and traditions that shaped nineteenth-century mourning. Led by licensed funeral directors and embalmers, the program will examine mourning attire, postmortem photography, hair jewelry, funeral processions and burial practices through the lens of a society where death was a familiar part of daily life. Guests will also learn how the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln transformed American funeral practices and became one of the nation's most significant public mourning events.

Visions of Christmas Past December 5, 2026 | 12 p.m.
Celebrate the season with a festive afternoon at the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy Christmas activities inspired by holidays of the past, including ornament decorating, cookie decorating, hot chocolate, apple cider and a visit with Father Christmas. Admission to both the museum and the event is free, and every child will receive a special gift bag from Father Christmas.

The Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum is located on the historic campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.
