Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) has named Dr. Stephanie Zeszutek campus dean for its Knoxville location, strengthening the University’s leadership as one of the nation’s largest educators of physicians and health professionals.
Zeszutek brings a strong record of clinical care, medical education, and leadership to LMU-DCOM, with experience spanning patient care, academic medicine, and health policy. Her background aligns with LMU’s mission to prepare practice-ready physicians who serve real communities, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
Zeszutek earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also holds a pharmacy degree from St. John’s University and graduated with honors from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center and is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Zeszutek has completed the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) Health Policy Fellowship and Senior Leadership Development programs, underscoring her focus on advancing medical education and health care systems.
Zeszutek is actively engaged in clinical, research, and educational initiatives. She serves as an advisor, clinical educator, and principal investigator and has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed and media publications. Her leadership extends across local and state medical societies, and she currently serves as department chair in obstetrics and gynecology for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
Her work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Women’s Achievement Award, Presidential Service Award, National Educator of the Year, Gold Humanism Honor Society recognition, and the Society of Osteopathic Medical Educators Innovation Award in Clinical Medical Education.
As campus dean, Zeszutek will oversee academic operations, support student success, and help expand LMU-DCOM’s clinical training partnerships. Her leadership will play a key role in strengthening pathways for students pursuing careers in medicine and other high-demand health professions.
