The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business will host its second annual Business Student Case Study Competition on May 1, 2026, continuing its commitment to experiential learning and professional development.

The competition is made possible through the generous support of alumnus Paul Saylor, a member of the School of Business Executive Advisory Board. Participating students will be from MGMT 300 (Principles of Management), MGMT 310 (Human Resource Management) and MKTG 430 (Brand Management).

Designed to mirror real-world business decision-making, the competition challenges student teams to analyze complex business cases and present strategic solutions to a panel of industry professionals, faculty and advisory board members.

“This year’s Business Student Case Study Competition was made possible through the generous support of Mr. Paul Saylor, a proud graduate of the School of Business, Classes of 1995 and 1998,” said Dr. Kelsey Metz, dean of the School of Business. “We are sincerely grateful for his continued commitment to student success and experiential learning within the School of Business.”

Throughout the spring semester, teams have worked collaboratively to research modern business challenges modeled after real company scenarios. Final presentations will be evaluated on analytical rigor, strategic thinking, creativity and feasibility.

Business professionals who collaborated with the School of Business advisory board to develop the cases will also serve as judges, providing students with direct feedback and insight into industry expectations. High-performing teams will earn awards and recognition, including monetary prizes and opportunities for continued professional development.

Beyond the competition itself, students gain hands-on experience presenting their ideas to professionals, collaborating in team-based environments and strengthening communication and problem-solving skills that translate directly to internships and early career roles.
