Inclement Weather Operational Update

Due to extremely low temperatures, standing water on roadways, and the potential for icy conditions, Lincoln Memorial University will continue to deliver all classes online on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, for locations in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia.

All classes at affected locations will remain fully online through Tuesday. Students should monitor Canvas for all course assignments, instructional materials, and faculty guidance.

For LMU locations in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia, University offices will open at 10:00 am tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Employees should use caution when traveling, and supervisors are encouraged to exercise appropriate flexibility based on local conditions.

This update includes all affected academic and administrative sites, including J. Frank White Academy.

Florida campus locations are excluded from this update and will continue to operate on a normal instructional and operational schedule.

University leadership, facilities, safety, and emergency management teams will continue to monitor temperatures, road conditions, and evolving weather impacts. The safety of our students, faculty, and staff remains the highest priority, and decisions will continue to be made thoughtfully based on local conditions.

Please continue to monitor official University communication channels, including University email and website updates, for any additional information or schedule changes.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to manage these conditions safely and responsibly.

LMU-DCOM Assistant Professor Dr. Tyler McCurry Named 2025 Tennessee State Emerging Leader

Dr. Tyler McCurry

The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) and the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) have announced Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) Assistant Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Dr. Tyler McCurry as the 2025 Tennessee State Emerging Leader.

The recognition honors exceptional new physicians in practice who demonstrate outstanding service through osteopathic tenets and principles, advocacy, community engagement and philanthropic spirit. Each Osteopathic State Affiliate may nominate one physician within their first 10 years of practice. From these statewide honorees, a national winner is selected by osteopathic peers and industry leaders. All State Emerging Leaders are also featured annually in an advertisement in the “U.S. News & World Report” Best Hospitals edition.

McCurry, a 2017 graduate of LMU-DCOM, is a board-certified family physician and founder of the Tennessee Osteopathic Center, where he integrates osteopathic principles with holistic patient care. He also serves as associate medical director for Hospice of Chattanooga, providing compassionate support for patients and families navigating end-of-life care. His clinical work spans primary care, wound care and hyperbaric medicine and reflects a broad commitment to whole-person treatment.

In addition to his clinical practice, McCurry teaches both OMM and family medicine as a member of the LMU-DCOM faculty. He previously served as chief resident at East Tennessee State University.

“I’m deeply honored to be recognized as the 2025 Tennessee State Emerging Leader by the American Osteopathic Foundation,” McCurry said. “I’m incredibly grateful to my colleagues for this nomination and humbled by their confidence in me. My hope is simply to serve my students, patients and community well, and to help others find healing and wholeness in ways that reflect the heart of osteopathic medicine.”

The AOF will formally recognize all 2025 State Emerging Leaders in the coming year.
