The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) and the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA) have announced Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) Assistant Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Dr. Tyler McCurry as the 2025 Tennessee State Emerging Leader.
The recognition honors exceptional new physicians in practice who demonstrate outstanding service through osteopathic tenets and principles, advocacy, community engagement and philanthropic spirit. Each Osteopathic State Affiliate may nominate one physician within their first 10 years of practice. From these statewide honorees, a national winner is selected by osteopathic peers and industry leaders. All State Emerging Leaders are also featured annually in an advertisement in the “U.S. News & World Report” Best Hospitals edition.
McCurry, a 2017 graduate of LMU-DCOM, is a board-certified family physician and founder of the Tennessee Osteopathic Center, where he integrates osteopathic principles with holistic patient care. He also serves as associate medical director for Hospice of Chattanooga, providing compassionate support for patients and families navigating end-of-life care. His clinical work spans primary care, wound care and hyperbaric medicine and reflects a broad commitment to whole-person treatment.
In addition to his clinical practice, McCurry teaches both OMM and family medicine as a member of the LMU-DCOM faculty. He previously served as chief resident at East Tennessee State University.

The AOF will formally recognize all 2025 State Emerging Leaders in the coming year.
