Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has announced its 2025 Athletes Hall of Fame inductees, honoring four individuals who have made lasting impacts as coaches, athletes and leaders within the LMU athletics community.
Travis Muncy (’98, ’07) was inducted for his exceptional coaching career with LMU golf, where he led both the men’s and women’s programs for over two decades. A five-time South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year, Muncy guided the men’s team to four SAC titles, a national runner-up finish in 2019, and a No. 1 national ranking in 2021. He coached 11 All-Americans and earned Southeast Region Coach of the Year honors twice before being named LMU’s Director of Athletics in 2024.
Benny Collins, former head coach of LMU men’s and women’s tennis (2008–2019), earned induction for rebuilding both programs into SAC contenders. Collins led the teams to a combined 163 wins, sweeping SAC Coach of the Year honors in 2010 after winning both the regular-season and tournament championships. He also emphasized academic excellence, with his women's team winning multiple LMU Athletics Academic Awards during his tenure.
Adam Golia (’18), a standout attacker from Victoria, British Columbia, was recognized for his record-setting career with LMU men’s lacrosse. Golia broke program records for goals and points during his senior season in 2018 and was twice named AstroTurf SAC Offensive Player of the Week. He earned First and Second Team All-SAC honors during his collegiate career and remains one of the most decorated players in program history.
Brittany McCown Simms (’13) was a four-year standout on the LMU women’s golf team. She held the second-best scoring average (79.8) and win-loss percentage (0.78) in program history during her time at LMU. Simms posted 19 top-10 finishes, including nine top-fives and one tournament win, and was twice named to the SAC All-Tournament Second Team.
The LMU Athletes Hall of Fame was established in 1981 under the leadership of former university president Dr. Gary Burchett. The Hall is housed in the B. Frank “Tex” Turner Arena and supported through the efforts and contributions of past inductees, committee members, and alumni.
This year’s induction ceremony took place during LMU Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 11, as part of a weekend filled with celebration, campus events, and alumni reunions.
