The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Lincoln Memorial University – Tampa Physician Assistant Program.

Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation- Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.

Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class.

The program’s accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website at https://www.arc-pa.org/accreditation-history-lincoln-memorial-universitytampa/.

The status allows the program to begin enrolling students for its inaugural class, which is scheduled to begin in January 2026. The 24-month program leads to a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree. The program will prepare graduates for success in today’s evolving healthcare environment through rigorous, hands-on curriculum that integrates classroom learning, lab experience, and clinical rotations. The program emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based medicine and compassionate clinical practice.

“The Tampa program reflects LMU’s mission to improve access to quality medical education and to meet critical workforce needs in communities across Florida,” said Dr. Paula Miksa, dean of the LMU-School of Medical Sciences. “Graduates will be well-prepared to enter clinical practice and serve patients in a variety of healthcare settings.”

Additional, Lincoln Memorial University’s program in Physician Assistant Studies (MMS) in Tampa, Florida, is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education (License #5738).
