LMU-CVM Honors Dr. Megan Preston

The Lincoln Memorial University-Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) recognized outstanding alumni accomplishments during its 2025 Homecoming celebration on October 11. The prestigious Jason Johnson Early Career Achievement in Veterinary Medicine Award was presented to Megan Preston, DVM, in recognition of her significant contributions to veterinary medicine and her leadership within the profession.

 

Established in 2024, the Jason Johnson Early Career Achievement in Veterinary Medicine Award honors Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) graduates within 10 years of earning their degree who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievement and service to the field.

 

A member of the LMU-CVM Class of 2021, Dr. Preston has made notable strides in clinical practice and veterinary education since graduation. She currently serves as an associate veterinarian at the Animal Hospital of Whitfield County in Dalton, Georgia, which was named LMU-CVM’s 2025 Clinical Site of the Year. As part of the LMU-CVM clinical network, Dr. Preston mentors clinical year veterinary students with enthusiasm and compassion. She is known for creating a welcoming learning environment and for demonstrating professionalism and respect in all client and patient interactions.
