The Lincoln Memorial University-Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) presented Candace Bean, LVMTg, with the Mary Hatfield Early Career Achievement in Veterinary Medical Technology Award during LMU's Homecoming festivities on October 11.
Established in 2024, the award recognizes early-career graduates of the Veterinary Medical Technology (VMT) program who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement within 10 years of graduation.
A graduate of the class of 2021, Bean currently serves as an instructor in LMU’s Undergraduate Veterinary Medical Technology Program, where she mentors students and prepares them for careers in veterinary technology. Drawing on her clinical experience, she helps students bridge the gap between theory and hands-on practice.
“Candace has been an exemplary representative of Veterinary Medical Technology at LMU, both as a student, alumna and instructor,” said Dr. Randy Evans, associate dean of career services and professional development and former director of the veterinary medical technology program. “She has continually been an excellent instructor and role model to our undergraduate students.”
Bean’s work continues to make a lasting impact on her students, colleagues and the animals whose lives she touches.
