Lincoln Memorial University has been named a 2025-2026 College of Distinction, earning national honors for its commitment to hands-on learning, student support, and career preparation.
In addition to its overall recognition, LMU received specialized distinctions in Business, Education, Nursing, Career Development, and Affordability from Colleges of Distinction—a national resource that evaluates institutions based on student-centered practices and post-graduate success.
This marks the fifth consecutive year LMU has earned these recognitions from Colleges of Distinction, a testament to its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success.
“LMU is proud to be recognized for putting students first,” said LMU President Jason McConnell. “These honors affirm our commitment to accessible, purpose-driven education that prepares graduates to lead with character and confidence.”
The LMU School of Business was praised for blending theory with real-world application, offering programs in marketing, accounting, and entrepreneurship. Its focus on ethics, interdisciplinary learning, and leadership development stood out in the evaluation process.
The LMU Carter and Moyers School of Education earned distinction for its early field experiences, discipline-specific training, and strong academic advising. Students gain classroom experience from their first year and graduate prepared to lead in diverse learning environments.
The Caylor School of Nursing was honored for its clinical rigor, faculty excellence, and strong outcomes. Students benefit from early exposure to clinical settings, high NCLEX pass rates, and a curriculum that integrates liberal arts to develop critical thinking and communication skills.
LMU also earned the Affordable College of Distinction badge, highlighting its low net cost, generous financial aid, and strong return on investment. The Career Development badge recognized the University’s comprehensive support system—from first-year career exploration to internships and job placement.
“These honors reflect LMU’s mission to prepare students for meaningful lives and careers,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer at Colleges of Distinction. “From the classroom to the community, LMU emphasizes learning that’s both personal and practical.”
Colleges of Distinction evaluates institutions based on engagement, teaching quality, community, and outcomes—what it calls the Four Distinctions. LMU’s selection reflects its ability to offer a high-impact undergraduate experience that goes beyond metrics.
