Duncan School of Law Enters Agreement with Kentucky State University

Dr. Koffi Akakpo, President of KSU

Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) has entered into a new articulation agreement with Kentucky State University (KSU) to strengthen academic collaboration and expand opportunities for KSU students to pursue a legal education.

Under the agreement, LMU Law will reserve up to five seats each year in its incoming class for qualified KSU students who meet the admissions criteria outlined in the agreement. The partnership is designed to promote a clear and supportive pathway to law school and to encourage increased interest in the legal profession among KSU students.

In addition, LMU Law admissions representatives will travel to KSU this fall, and the law school will welcome a group of KSU students to its Knoxville campus for an on-site visit.

“KSU always seeks to promote opportunities for our students. We want to provide an affordable, quality education in Kentucky and beyond. This partnership is going to add options for our students who want to continue on and earn their graduate degree in law. We truly look forward to working with LMU,” said Dr. Koffi Akakpo, president of KSU.

A virtual signing ceremony took place on Wednesday, July 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. ET via Zoom. Administrators from both institutions gathered to formally celebrate the agreement.

“This agreement reflects a shared commitment to access to opportunity and into preparing the next generation of legal professionals who will go out and serve their communities with purpose and integrity,” said Dr. Jason McConnell, president of Lincoln Memorial University.
