Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) has announced that attorney, educator, and philanthropist Bobby Burchfield will deliver the keynote address at the Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 3, at Tex Turner Arena.

Burchfield, a distinguished legal professional and adjunct professor at both The George Washington University Law School and Wake Forest University School of Business, is widely known for his work in constitutional law and corporate litigation. Over the course of a four-decade career, he argued multiple cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and never lost a jury trial.

In addition to his legal career, Burchfield has served in advisory roles for presidential campaigns and national commissions. His philanthropic efforts include endowing scholarships and academic chairs at several institutions, including the recently established Roy and Anna Lee McCreary Burchfield Endowed Scholarship at LMU.

Burchfield’s ties to the University run deep. His family’s connection spans generations, beginning with his grandfather’s enrollment more than a century ago and continuing through several relatives who graduated from LMU.

LMU President Jason McConnell, DBA, will preside over the commencement ceremony, which will honor undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree candidates from across the University’s schools and colleges.

The ceremony is open to the public and will also be livestreamed at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/lincolnmemorialevents/
