KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Lincoln Memorial University-College of Dental Medicine (LMU-CDM) Dental Hygiene Program honored the Class of 2025 during the Dental Hygiene Pinning and Awards Ceremony on May 2.
The event recognized graduates for completing the program and included a formal pinning ceremony, symbolizing their transition from students to dental hygiene professionals. Awards were also presented to outstanding students and faculty members for achievements in clinical practice, academics, leadership, and teaching.
“Dental hygiene is more than a career; it is a calling rooted in care and compassion,” said Dr. Qi Wang, dean of LMU-CDM. “I have every confidence this class will carry the values of compassion and excellence into every clinic, every patient interaction, and every community served.”
Award recipients included:
· Crown Achievement Award: Myla McAnally
· Polished Perfection Award: Reagan Tolleson
· STAR Award: Jada McGhee
· Outstanding Dental Hygiene Award: Anisa Witherspoon
· Excellence in Chairside Education: Fergie Placencia, Michael Nevis, and Holly Atkins
· Dental Hygiene Student Recognition Award for Achievement in Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health: Erin Gray
· Lincoln Memorial Dental Hygiene Standout Student: Amelia Miller
· Hygienist Proud Student Award: Amelia Miller
· Class of 2025 Oral Systemic Educator of the Year Award: Miranda Shannon
· Golden Apple Award: Mandy Chadwell and Sharla Bush
· Golden Scaler Award: Jose Herrera
