Duncan School of Law Celebrates 2025 Spring Commencement

Duncan School of Law Class of 2025

Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) celebrated the commencement of the Class of 2025 at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium on May 8. The 97 graduates in the Class of 2025 were honored for their many achievements in law school and joined the ranks of several hundred LMU Law alumni.

The 2025 Commencement Speaker was Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Dwight E. Tarwater.  Tarwater spoke to the graduates about the importance of their law degree and their future careers in public service. “The oath, when you take it, is a promise to support the will of the people. Your education here will serve you well in upholding your promise,” said Tarwater.

During the ceremony, LMU Law Vice President and Dean Matt Lyon bestowed the graduates their hoods while degrees were bestowed by Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Maha Ayesh.

“Over the last 1,000 Days we have been witness to the class of 2025’s seriousness, with which you have taken your legal education, the respect you have given us and each other, and your zeal for helping others,” said LMU Law Vice President and Dean Matt Lyon. “You have us all brimming with optimism for the future of our profession and our country.”
