Dr. Laura Morrow to Deliver Keynote at Inaugural ABE Conference

The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business will welcome Dr. Laura Morrow, senior director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Lipscomb University, as keynote speaker for the inaugural Advances in Business Education (ABE) Conference on May 16.

 

Morrow will present “Beyond the Classroom: Cultivating Complex Problem-Solvers in Business Education.” The keynote will examine how educators can redesign traditional learning environments to prepare students for complex, real-world challenges. Morrow will offer practical strategies to enhance critical thinking, collaboration and application of theory, while maintaining academic rigor.

 

Morrow is an associate professor of management at Lipscomb. She previously served in faculty and administrative roles at Brenau University and Mercer University, including department chair and program director. Her background includes leadership development programming, faculty training and instructional design.

 

A 2018–19 Governor’s Teaching Fellow at the University of Georgia’s Institute of Higher Education, Morrow leads university-wide initiatives at Lipscomb, including new faculty orientation, department chair training, online teaching certification, and faculty research grants. She holds a doctorate in organizational behavior and human resource management from the University of Mississippi, a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in accounting and management from Lipscomb.

 

Her research focuses on workplace stress, stigma and student well-being. Her teaching experience spans undergraduate and graduate levels, in-person and online formats, and settings including study abroad and prison education.

 

The ABE Conference, themed “Promoting Teaching Excellence Through Innovation and Collaboration,” supports business educators through Pedagogy and Teaching Excellence, Business Research, and a Student Track featuring student-led work. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.
