LMU-CVM Hosts Clinical Awards

Lincoln Memorial University - Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) honored fourth-year students at the annual Commencement Banquet at the CVM building in May.

 

Dean Stacy Anderson, DVM, PhD, DACVS-LA, began the ceremony recognizing the Class of 2023 valedictorian Alexis Scarlett and salutatorian Mackenzie Sigman.

As part of special awards and honors, Dr. Mitch Moses presented the LMU-CVM Clinical Site of the Year Companion Animal Award to The Itch Clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee; the LMU-CVM Clinical Site of the Year Large Animal Award to Carolina Equine Hospital to Browns Summit, North Carolina; the LMU-CVM Clinical Educator of the Year Companion Animal Award to Dr. Paul Harper of Buffalo Veterinary Group in Williamsville, New York; the LMU-CVM Clinical Educator of the Year Large Animal Award to Dr. Anne Yearians of Crab Orchard Veterinary Services in Tazewell, Virginia; and the LMU-CVM Clinical Group of the Year Award to National Veterinary Associates in Agoura Hill, California, (Dr. Charlene Ross).

 

The Student Leadership award was presented by Dr. Dustin Pulliam to Kylie Watson.

 

The American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) Foundation Student Surgical Proficiency Award was presented by Dr. Liz Devine and Dr. Robert Gilley to Megan Thompson and Walker Smith.

 

The American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) Award in Clinical Radiology was presented by Dr. Kim Carney to Courtney Wood Ross.

 

The American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP) Student Award for Excellence in Pathology was presented by Dr. Dustin Pulliam to Kaitlyn Wooten and Scott Brovarney.

 

The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Certificate of Clinical Excellence was presented by Dr. Alexandra Gilley and Dr. Undine Christmann to Astrid Beniquez Rodriguez (small animal), Kylie Watson (small animal), and Ashley Caldwell (large animal).

 

The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management Student of the Year Award was presented by Dr. Lisa Ebner to Sydney Howell and Richard Keller.
