The recital will be Monday, March 7, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. in the Duke Hall of Citizenship, Sam & Sue Mars Performing Arts Center. Her program is titled “The Romantic Pianist: Evocative Piano Pieces.”

Miller is in demand as a soloist, collaborator and teacher, and has performed at colleges, universities and prestigious concert venues throughout the United States and abroad. As a chamber musician, she has appeared in recitals and commercial recordings with principal instrumentalists from the National Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional of Mexico. In June 2018, she made her Kennedy Center debut in Washington, D.C., in a duo recital with famed contraforte soloist Lewis Lipnick.

Miller is passionate about 20th and 21st century music and is working on a large-scale recording project of new works by composers such as Libby Larsen, Noelia Escalzo and William F. Montgomery. As part of a growing repertoire of newly commissioned works, she gave the world premiere performance of Eric Ewazen’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in 2021.

As a concerto soloist, Miller has appeared with the Symphony of the Vines in California, Westminster (Pennsylvania) College Symphony, Orchestra Omaha (Nebraska), Oklahoma Composers Orchestra, Dordt University Symphonic Band (Iowa) and the Lakeland (Ohio) Civic Orchestra.

She earned a performance degree with concentrations in piano and voice from Idaho State University and a piano performance and pedagogy degree from the University of Oklahoma. She currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska, where she is an artist and faculty member at the Omaha Conservatory of Music and instructor of piano at Iowa Western Community College. A dedicated teacher, Miller enjoys working with students of all ages and levels. Her approach to teaching is inspired by her background in psychology, pedagogy and more than 10 years of experience.

The performance is free and open to the public. It will include pieces by Cecile Chaminade, Eric Fogg, Alex Shapiro, Daniel Baldwin and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Masks are not required, but are encouraged.
