The LMU Paul V. Hamilton School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and The LMU Players will present a theater production of “Clue: The Musical,” Thursday through Saturday, April 7-9, 2022. The production will take place at 7:30 p.m. each day in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center at Duke Hall of Citizenship on the main campus of LMU.
Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) will honor Dean Emeritus Gary R. Wade on Thursday, March 31, 2022, with the unveiling of his portrait in the Robert H. Watson Courtroom— joining portraits of former LMU Law deans Sydney Beckman and Parham Williams. A reception will precede the program, which will feature remarks from Dean Matt Lyon, LMU President Clayton Hess, LMU Board Chairman Autry O.V. “Pete” DeBusk, and LMU Law alumni.

Observing the national theme “The Time is Right for Social Work,” the University hopes to highlight how social workers have enriched our society for more than a century and how their services continue to be needed today.
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Paul V. Hamilton School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) is hosting a week-long event featuring 25 speakers on topics including political science, psychology, criminal justice, law and religious studies. The event, called Zoom-A-Palooza, will be available via Zoom for anyone who wants to participate during the week of March 28 through April 1. Some topics for Zoom-A-Palooza include “Crisis in Ukraine,” Introduction to the FBI,” and “Plucked from the Headlines: How Jesus Consumed the News.” The speakers will be presenting via Zoom from a variety of places, ranging from Knoxville, Tennessee, to the United Kingdom. Each day will feature a welcome speaker followed by five one-hour presentations.
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) President Clayton Hess has named David Honeycutt as the new chief of LMU Police and Security. In this role, Honeycutt will oversee all police and security operations at LMU and lead the nationally recognized LMU Police and Security department, which includes a staff of almost 50 personnel including POST-certified police officers, armed security guards, unarmed security guards, dispatchers and administrative staff. In addition to the main campus, the department serves LMU’s nine off-campus learning sites. Honeycutt brings 27 years of law enforcement experience to LMU. Most recently he used his expertise at the Union County Sheriff’s Department, where he worked from 2019 until he accepted the post at LMU.
Two first-year students in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the Lincoln Memorial University – College of Veterinary Medicine (LMU-CVM) were awarded $500 in scholarships from the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) Foundation funded by Elanco Animal Health for presentations they developed with faculty mentor Dr. Brad Thacker at the 53rd AASV Annual Meeting held in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 26-March 1, 2022.
On March 3- 5, 2022, Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law (LMU Law) third-year law students Baylee Brown, Brock Goetz, Brianna Riley, and Brianna Weiner competed in the oral advocacy component of the Washington D.C. Regional of the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition (ABA NAAC). Their teammates, second-year student Jordan Meddings and third-year student Megan Lowe, authored the briefs, fulfilling the written advocacy component of the competition.
LMU-SMS Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) student Gary A. R. Bowen was recently promoted to Major while stationed in the remote Kurecik Mountains in Turkey. He was promoted from the rank of Captain to Major effective February 3 in a ceremony completed by the Turkish Site Commander Major Metin, Kaya of the Turkish Airforce.

Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) student Ashley Dailey, Class of 2022, has received the National Outstanding Medical Student Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association (EMRA). Dailey is only the second DO student to win the award.
Renowned Civil War author and scholar Dr. Steven Woodworth will be the featured speaker at the 2022 Kincaid Lecture Series at the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum (ALLM) on the Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) main campus. He will speak at 1 p.m. on March 17, 2022, in the Arnold Auditorium. Woodworth will speak on “The Religious World of the Civil War Soldier” followed by a question-and-answer session. The series is supported by the Dr. Robert L. Kincaid Endowed Research Center and is free and open to the public.

The recital will be Monday, March 7, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. in the Duke Hall of Citizenship, Sam & Sue Mars Performing Arts Center. Her program is titled “The Romantic Pianist: Evocative Piano Pieces.”
