LMU-DCOM Student Singarajah Receives AAEM/RSA Scholarship

Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicines (LMU-DCOM) fourth-year student Anantha Singarajah was selected to receive an American Academy of Emergency Medicine Resident and Student Association (AAEM/RSA) Diversity & Inclusion Residency Application Scholarship.

“In my opinion, mentorship should always be free and accessible to all. It is why I am so heavily involved with the AAEM,” Singarajah said. “It is through this organization that I found a variety of mentors and opportunities to advocate for my fellow #EMBound medical students.”

Singarajah co-created the Osteopathic Mentorship Webinar Series through AAEM's Women in EM section that has been up and running for the last year. She is serving her second term as the medical student representative of the Tennessee chapter of AAEM and was recently elected as the Secretary/Treasurer for the 2022-2023 AAEM/RSA Board of Directors. She is set to match for residency this spring and to graduate this May.

“I hope to stay involved in AAEM throughout residency and beyond working to diversify the field of emergency medicine,” she said.

The American Academy of Emergency Medicine Resident and Student Association (AAEM/RSA) is a non-profit professional association for emergency medicine residents and medical students. AAEM/RSA launched as an independent organization in 2005, previously it was a section of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM). AAEM is the specialty society of emergency medicine and for over 20 years has pioneered advocacy for the individual specialist in emergency medicine. Visit AAEM's website to learn more.
